Four. The second book insurgent took me a few days to get through but I was really anticipating the last one to be amazing. BOY was I wrong. I should've know from the beginning when they told from Tobias point of view something bad was going to happen. I am completely upset by the ending. However the book itself is horrible. That's why I don't like it. Let's begin. How many different groups can go against eachother? First Jeanine and then Evelyn and then David and his stupid science experiment. And then the allegant....it's just one thing after another and you're left wondering okay when is this going to end? It's horrible to find out that you are pretty much lab rats and that David and his team are playing God. Understand why they were going to prevent any further damage from the fraction. What I don't get is how careless the plan was. Tris went through this whole thing and we watched from her point of view...watched her grow and love and find friends and somewhat peace. Sure she had issues with her brother but like Tobias said sometimes people want to sacrifice themselves to show you their love and this is what Caleb wanted, regardless wether he was scared or not. That was the only way he was going to find peace. But of course once again Tris doesn't allow that fine whatever. That was expected. And when she survived the death serum I had hope...what wasn't expected and ironic to me is she survived the death serum but died by a gun and by David nonetheless. WTF?! And Tris has her finally thoughts that she is ready to be with her parents and is it over...BUT WAIT A MIN Ms. Roth just before this "sacrifice" she talked about how much she wanted to live and even throughout this book and the end of the second book...she even tells Caleb to tell Tobias that she doesn't want to leave him. Why are you so contradicting?! Which is it? I was just pissed because all of this character build up and seeing how she grows and learns to grieve and she dies?! Seriously. You are one cruel bi....I won't go there. But you get the gist. To top it off what the heck did you do to Tobias in this book? He was so strong and equal and went through a lot in the first two books. But him and Tris balanced eachother out. You made him weak and pathetic in this book all because his gene were damaged? Um okay what about his home life? He has dealt with that and grown from that but can't deal with gene damage. Okay fine. But he grows weaker and weaker and then the end? I don't give a crap about two year later. You just pretty much stated they remember but are moving on blah blah. Why tell us what happens in two years? You already ruined the book with the inconsistent plot and characters. At least mocking jay had a better ending. What purpose did Tris dying serve? Yeah Caleb could of died but I was okay with her going in and surviving the death serum. I HATE authors like you. You build a great series for readers and then you break us because you think it'll make for a better story line. It's really crappy of you to be so cruel and for that matter stupid. This was your book and your baby and you ruined the entire thing with the third book. I was so confused if this was the same writer in the last two books or vice versa. I will never read your books. I'm not even sure I want to see the movie. All I know is that I wish the memory serum was real so I could forget I ever read this horrible series. Good job Ms. Roth If you wanted cruelty and heartache you got it. While also leaving the book confusing as ever. Way to go! ...more
