"Tink's panties" this is the best one so far! Rachel Morgan is back, stirring up some more trouble in the Hollows! I couldn't ask for anything more: non-stop action, danger, more of my favorite characters [Trent, Kisten and Takata], some great new additions [Ceri, David and Erica] and finally some overdue romance!! With the help of her friends, she must always create interesting solutions to get herself out of the messes she creates for herself. She has a difficult time trusting people and men in particular. Don't generally write reviews but will put something here since it's been a while I've been so burned out on a book. I find the series enjoyable thus far. The world is engaging and the secondary characters interesting. My issue stems from the main character.

I really enjoyed this third book in this series and there were a few times when I really feared for Rachel, especially all the bits with Big Al. He's one pretty determined demon, isn't he? Rachel made a deal with him in the previous book to help catch Piscary, the nasty vampire, but she doesn't want to meet her end of that deal and will try everything she can to get out of it! Well, don't make a deal with a demon then! They're not exactly nice, honest creatures!

There were lots of little things I really enjoyed this third book in this series and there were a few times when I really feared for Rachel, especially all the bits with Big Al. He's one pretty determined demon, isn't he? Rachel made a deal with him in the previous book to help catch Piscary, the nasty vampire, but she doesn't want to meet her end of that deal and will try everything she can to get out of it! Well, don't make a deal with a demon then! They're not exactly nice, honest creatures!

There were lots of little things happening in this book leading up to the bigger finish, but the overall plot is that there is a new bad in town and Trent Kalamack wants him gone as he is imposing himself on Trent's drug business.

Nick finally decides he has has enough and cannot be Rachel's familiar or boyfriend any more so distances himself completely by moving away. I'm glad about that - I wasn't overly keen on him and do think that Rachel will be much better off with Kisten, even though their first date turned out to be a bit of a disaster.

Despite how she feels about Trent, Rachel agrees to be his "bodyguard" for a night standing up to Saladan, the new bad boy and Trent actually did some good for once. He told Rachel a bit about her father and saved her life, which I didn't expect him to do.

I do really enjoy the writing in these books, although there are a few editing issues in the kindle version (spaces in the middle of words is my biggest issue!) and I love the characters for the most part. Rachel is great, although some of her decisions are quite stupid at times.

Ivy irritates me quite a bit to be honest. She's a very jealous character and hates anyone getting involved with Rachel, even though Rachel has made it very clear to her that she does not have any romantic feelings for her. It's almost as if Ivy is hanging on just waiting for that one day when Rachel will lower her guard a bit and will let Ivy bite her or let her have more relations with her than just friendship, but Rachel is determined that it will never happen. Makes me feel like Ivy is the true predator here.

I find Kisten and Jenks hilarious, but I do hope Jenks comes back in the next book. David was a nice surprise - I did wonder if he would be Rachel's next love interest and there may well be something between them in the future - just an inkling I'm getting from them. And I'm glad that there is now someone who can help Rachel with her magic - boy she needs it!

Straight on to reading the next book in this series - can't wait to see who the big bad will be now Saladan is gone, but is he gone for good?! ...more

I'm liking this series more and more as I read on. I'm a little sad about the fight with Jenks, but I hope it all gets worked out in the next book. Trent is starting to really show some promise. I liked him from the first book (I know, I'm weird by liking the bad guy) and I was and still am interested in what happens with this character.
