I was neither a fan nor a hater of Michelle Obama, and after having read her memoir Becoming, that opinion remains. One would have to admit though that she is a good ambassador for the American brand of optimism and hope.
All through her time as First lady, Michelle directed her power and her optics towards the conversation around race, gender & diversity and she continues to do so in her memoir as well. Whether it be her choice to wear lesser known ethnically diverse designers or pick predomina

I love Michelle Obama's voice. So yes I am biased with the happiness I have of hearing her voice. Basically, I would have loved hearing any book where she would have been the voice for.

In any case, this book was about her, her life growing up in Chicago, and her journey in her career and marrying Barack Obama, to becoming the First Lady.

Not sure if I was surprised by her story, I just loved knowing it. And it was compelling to hear the learnings she had on the way and the values, and way of be

Oh, I loved this. MO is candid, charming, thoughtful, and tough. She details her growing-up years, her young self and personality, her work ethic, her lucky breaks. She explores the minefield of setting her own meaningful path while partnering with someone with such strong ideals and ideas. How she resisted BO’s involvement in politics for all the reasons you’d imagine. How she came to understand he was needed within the political system. The Obamas are always thinking of how regular Joes are af ...more

THIS BOOK. Ever since I started reading it I can't stop telling stories about Michelle's life, sharing her wisdom, and gushing about her all-around amazingness. It's inspiring on so many levels, but I particularly loved her description of how she left her high-power law career for something more meaningful. And it was amazing to hear how she kept Barack in line all those years. ...more

Wow. This book really exceeded even the hype. The prose is like poetry. The story is inspiring, relatable and exceptional. I have so much more respect for Michelle. Highly recommend that everyone read this!

Świetna autobiografia byłej Pierwszej Damy USA. Przedstawia swoje życie, które nie jest idealne. O dzieciństwie w Chicago, stereotypach o kobietach i czarnoskórych, wychowywaniu dzieci, karierze politycznej męża i wielu innych rzeczach. Michelle Obama jawi się jako normalna kobieta.
