gonna be real with you all, if i wasn't reading this for book club i probably wouldn't have finished
there's something to be said for the use of subtlety and elision as literary devices but there's a point where it just ends up shutting the reader out of the narrative and you're left sitting there like '...i know this outs me as an unsophisticated tumblrite but i require 100% more feels than i'm getting rn, is this even a romance?'
