This is one of those rare instances in which I liked the movie more than the book. While the writing style is lovely (vivid imagery), the depth of Jack & Ennis' relationship isn't developed quite enough. I enjoyed the story, but didn't feel emotionally invested in the characters... ultimately, I was left wanting more.

Hadn't seen the movie.
Have read some Annie Proulx and have more of here books on my bookshelf.
Didn't know all the "brokeback" references in today-speak.

Great book and Ang Lee made great movie adaptation of it. I loved that. Annie Proulx showed the situation that is this not accepted in many places.
