This is a labor of love if I've ever seen it. Sumptuously illustrated, exploding in color and packed with detailed illustrations, Bolivar tells the story of a definitely not-extinct dinosaur staying on the down low in New York City until a young girl notices and makes it her quest to out him. The plot develops as you expect it to and all ends well. Ho hum. I really enjoyed this book. It was really fun, but it also let you know that you need to look up from what you are doing sometimes. If you plant your eyes in your phone, in a newspaper or you get caught up in something and forget to be mindful of the world around you, you can lose out in some pretty exciting things, like dinosaurs named Bolivar. :)

Sybil is sure her neighbor is a dinosaur. She tries to obtain photographic evidence to prove it. Dinosaurs are extinct, though, so it can't be true...unless this one isn't. A wry, delightful graphic novel set in NYC, this book may encourage you to notice more.
