Enjoyable story of redemption

Set during the Crusades, this story follows the journey of a broken man who learns the hard lesson of mercy and forgiveness through a grudging desire to make amends. He had to learn that forgiveness is not something he can earn. The setting and characters are rich, the story has a steady, building pace, and I would definitely recommend this to teen and older readers of historical fiction, easily those who enjoy Middle Ages, knights, Crusades, sweet romance, and likea

The Book:
Knight Marcus Annan wants to bury his past. When a mysterious monk demand Annan help him, Marcus is forced to join the Third Crusade in the Holy Land and risk exposure.

Best book I've read in a long time. Everything, character arcs, plot, and themes, were superbly done. I got so into the story and the characters, I was sad to see the novel end. The characters were so convincingly displayed, and I never felt like they slipped out of character. I recommend this to anyone who likes medieval novels with adventure and a splash of romance. ...more

An enjoyable adventure to the times of the Third Crusade, but I felt like it lacked a special something.
