2 "f*ck insta love" stars

Stop with the insta-love and insta-lust trend. It's getting old.

This had many elements to be a winner. (Sexy) Warriors, greek gods, demons, a curse, myths... But there's always a "but" and this one is huge and something I can't stand. Insta-f*cking-love. Main character, a warrior possessed by Violence, and main heroine fall in love IN A DAY. And lets re-cap what happened in those 24hs.

This had many elements to be a winner. (Sexy) Warriors, greek gods, demons, a curse, myths... But there's always a "but" and this one is huge and something I can't stand. Insta-f*cking-love. Main character, a warrior possessed by Violence, and main heroine fall in love IN A DAY. And lets re-cap what happened in those 24hs.

Heroine is kidnapped by our super sexy-smexy bad guy (that isn't that bad after all, how original and surprising) after he killed four men. He was covered with blood and with a fiery expression along the lines "I'm gonna murder you too." What does our main female character? She stands there in awe, as the voices she used to hear are gone. THAT MUST BE HER TRUE LOVE, OF COURSE!

So, she ends up in the castle where all the warriors live. And she sees how Maddox is killed by two of them, before being locked up in a cell. More yadda-yadda happens, she cries for Maddox death, etc. He's a violent dude that keeps her captive but yet so Ashlyn falls for him, in spite of that and seeing his demonic side (with the creepy demon face and all... So hot, yeah). And also knowing that he killed Pandora in a horrendous way.

Which leads to the fact that she justifies him by saying "everybody makes mistakes." Of course, it's normal that people stab someone six times to death. You know, their hands slipped, common thing, tiny mistake. Yeah, well, NO. Of all the things you could say (like "you already paid for your sins" or any bullshit alike), this wasn't one of them.

Another issue I had is the fact that the demon, after all, it's tamed. By love. Like, what the actual f*uck? I can't even. Demons can't be tamed. They're evil creatures that only care about themselves and their needs. They do not feel love, if only lust. Period. Though Maddox can, indeed, feel love, I really doubt a demon like Violence would fall too. Which did happen and it's ridiculous. Besides, after thousands years of being alone and avoiding any kind of commitment—he falls in love in barely one-two days? Like that makes any sense, anyways.

And to the last point I find quite stupid. All of the warriors hate what they've become, they hate their lives and the fact that demons have control of them from time to time. Then there's Pandora Box, which could lock up those demons once again and free humanity from Misery, Violence, Wrath and all the nasty things. But by locking up said demons, the warriors that are possessed by them would die. And they do not want to die, so they want to find the Box and destroy it. Excuse me but WHAT? So you hate your existence with a fiery passion, you hate what you did because of being possessed, you hide in a castle so you can't hurt anyone else and when it comes the opportunity to save humanity—you say no? Because you want to keep yourself alive? Didn't you say you hate that life? MAKE. UP. YOUR. MIND. Damn!

And that's it, I'm done with the series. Not only the main characters insta-love put me off, but also the insta-love growing between another two characters that I know will have their book. So no, I'm not gonna torture myself. Boo-bye, I'm over and out! ...more

Esperaba otra cosa. Los personajes me resultaron tediosos. Continue con la historia por los personajes secundarios y a sabiendas que los libros que siguen son de ellos.
Lo bueno es el detrás de la historia de amor de este libro, es decir, la trama general de la historia de los Señores del inframundo
