Wow. What a pleasant surprise!
I mean, I did expect an enjoyable read -- this is one of Melissa Tagg's books, after all! ;) -- but I was still taken by surprise by how much I really enjoyed this book! If you know me well, you know that I'm not real big on Christmas books. I like them, sure, but I don't often truly love them. Well, I think I may have to officially name this as my favorite Christmas book.
And can I just go ahead and call it quirky? Because it was. And I really like that!

It can be a challenge for an author to create a novella that truly captures the personalities of the characters, contains deep and memorable scenes, and leaves the reader feeling as if they have read a full story when they reach the end. I’m thrilled to say that One Enchanted Christmas not only meets, but exceeds those criteria.

I just loved this little story! I say little since it's a novella but it really had a "full fledged novel" feel to it that I really enjoyed. Plus, it's set at Christmas which is my favorite time of year so...
Having started in on Melissa's new series with From the Start I was able to relate to some of the familiar scenery. I loved her incorporation of some of the characters from From the Start but yet her ability to make One Enchanted Christmas its own story.

My thoughts: First, the disclaimer. "I bought a copy of this book. All opinions are my own." That done, ONE ENCHANTED CHRISTMAS is a sweet Christmassy romance set in the same Iowa town as Ms. Tagg's other books. Some characters were revisited (but honestly they didn't register with me until I read the author note at the end, and then I'm like "
Drew was a real sweet hero. A dear, really. Yes, he had baggage, and he was struggling to get it right, to make things right. But it was a struggle. His s ...more

A warm winter read with heart and humor. Melissa Tagg always serves up laughs and witty dialogue without skimping on emotional depth and conflict.
Main characters, author Miranda and farmer/craftsman Drew, have a believable, sweet chemistry that builds nicely despite One Enchanted Christmas being a novella.
A gem of a story I highly recommend.

I seem to recall describing Melissa Tagg’s other novella – “Three Little Words” – as the perfect novella. It now has competition.
Somehow Melissa Tagg’s novellas don’t feel like novellas. Even though it would have taken me an hour and half tops to read this novella, I came away feeling like I had read a full length novel. A very satisfying full-length novel.

ADORBS. When do we get to see Colin's happy ending??

Tagg's 'From the Start' reeled me in and easily earned five stars from me. Seeing that she was self publishing a novella set in the same town as the Walker family, had me easily pressing the pre-order button. Even better? Hearing that Tagg was basing main character Maren's cover hero crush on her own experiences is certainly intriguing :)
