5 stars for the audiobook! As a music lover, I ate this up. Sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll fun. I wish this band was real so I could go look up videos of their performances from the 70's as detailed in the story. Different narrators are used for each character and it played out like a behind the scenes documentary of the making of a band and one of the greatest albums of all time. There are even song lyrics included so you could reference them while reading about what was going on during the song ...more

Loved. This. Book. So fun to read. And after I finished it, I read the author's acknowledgements in the back of the book and she mentions Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac, the Rumors Album and yes, I got every bit of that while I was reading. The whole time, I just kept picturing Steve Nicks - her energy, her eccentricity, her seductiveness, the legendary love affair with Lindsay Buckingham, the don't-give-a-shit attitude and I kept hearing the Fleetwood Mac song "Silver Springs" in my head. When the buzz started over this book, I didn't really think it was for me. But then a few of my friends raved about the audiobook and we decided to make it our audiobook book club pick for April and I dove in.

This is a situation where if I had read the book in text form, it would probably be 4-stars, but the audiobook production really pushes it over to 5-star territory. This is the story of a band called The Six, lead by Billy Dunne, and Daisy Jones, the talented but chaotic young woman who hel

Enjoyable read..good story. Having read some other reviews, I was expecting earth shattering things to happen and high emotion...disappointed in finding neither. I grew up in the 60’s and was a young adult n the 70’s..maybe that is why I did not react in the same way?

Wow, did this bring back the 70s and listening to Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours on repeat, over and over and over.

Interesting style of writing, like series of interviews. It worked well on Audible, as each character's voice wove one thread of the story. Fun story of a rising rock band and the eccentric personalities that made it unique in the 70s LA. I was transported back to those exciting days of my youth. ...more

I feel like I’ve read a disproportionate number of novels that have knocked me on my butt so far in 2019 - not that there aren’t always a few, but more than usual so early. This was one of them.

Incredible character driven novel that I think was greatly enhanced by reading as audiobook.
