A solid 3.5. The book is much better than the movie where Miss Marple is added and Treveylan’s backstory is silly. Of course the ending is the much better in the book and makes more sense. Given that the murderer in the movie is different! So if you have seen the movie and not read the book you have a treat in store.

I did like Emily and her intrepid sleuthing with Charles Enderby but her decision on who she would love is baffling. How can an intelligent woman make the decision she made.

I listened to the full cast BBC dramatisation of this book and it was wonderful. The actors and sound effects really set the atmosphere.

Lovely wintery moors mystery. Perfect Christmassy murder mystery.
I love these stand alones from Christie as they often have a cutesy romance and this was no different.
Emily is an excellent amateur sleuth. I also loved the mode of transport used to commit the murder as it's very similar to one of Christie's most famous stories.
