What Members Thought

I really don't think "Jane Finn" is all that unusual of a name. Sure, I haven't met anyone with the name before, but it's not so unusual that I would assume there's only one, and that any mention of a "Jane Finn" must therefore be about the same one person. Christie's original idea of "Jane Fish" seems slightly more peculiar to me, but still not weird enough to base a whole book on!

Tommy and Tuppence team up to overcome their financial difficulties and end up involved in solving a mystery and a murder!

One of my favorite Christie novels. Review to come.

A quick read and a fun adventure, I've read this several times.

Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple are the better known sleuths of Agatha Christie’s pen, yet Tommy and Tuppence are also engaging in their detective adventures. The time period is after WWI, in fact, the story begins shortly after the sinking of the Luistiania.
Lots of snappy dialogue with British slang thrown in. My version had footnotes which were both helpful and a distraction to the story.
An engaging read with typical Christie red herrings.

An engaging read with typical Christie red herrings.

Although Christie is one of my favourite authors, I have always liked the Tommy and Tuppence books the least. A rereading of this, which I originally read in my early teens, has born out my feelings. Although the two main characters have been through an active time in the war, they feel to me, that they have never grown up. Christie certainly includes a huge amount of mystery tropes, gangs, kidnapping, loss of memory, and many more. Definitely action-packed for those that like a fast moving read
