I liked and didn’t like this book. I was rather excited from the beginning, the meeting of Tommy and Tuppence and the start of their adventures was fun and exciting. The mystery itself wasn’t always believable. Right off I was astounded how T & T go off telling every stranger the whole story. The wrap up was done well, but I’d also suspected the suspect at times and I’m usually bad at being the detective.

The Secret Adversary, published in 1922, is a bit Nick and Nora meets Nancy Drew. Almost a 'young adult' book. Lifelong friends Tommy and Tupennce stumble into being detectives in pursuit of gainful employment after the end of the war, realize they are in love, eventually marry and become husband/wife detective team. Despite their inexperience, the plucky duo plunge headlong into solving the mystery, surviving life-threatening situations with innate cleverness and a bit of help along the way.
