I have a sentimental attachment to this book, I believe it was the very first Agatha Christie I ever read. I was staying with my grandmother and aunts for a week in junior high school, and this book was on their shelves. I read it because I forgot my library books and was bored, but I really enjoyed it and have been hooked on Christie ever since.

I am really enjoying my monthly Hercule Poirot rereads with the Reading the Detectives group. In this case, Poirot is once again investigating with myst

Hugh Fraser narrating is absolute perfection.

Oh Agatha. Never failing to appall with your romantic pairings. A teenage girl who's just gone through a bunch of psychic episodes being proposed to by her...psychiatrist. And this is seen as the good ending! [laughs and cries at the same time]

It's amazing how long Christie was writing. She started out writing about flappers and WWI veterans and ended writing about mods and hippies. This one has Ariadne Oliver, who is always wonderful with Poirot. The rest of the plot is far-fetched.
