I really enjoyed it! The barbs at Poirot that Christie laid out were a complete scream. Actually there's quite a bit of humour in this one. Also, Ariadne Oliver is my favourite and for the little she was here, I just adored her. She left abruptly and I was sad to see her go. I loved Poirot playing matchmaker for a couple who complement one another perfectly and would be happy together. The revelation left Mrs Summerhayes unmoved.
‘What a lovely name,’ she said kindly. ‘Greek, isn’t it?’
Now this is a Poirot novel that strays from the script a bit. It's fascinating but there seem to be three parts to this novel and the crime/mystery part is the weakest one. Yet, I really liked the book because first and foremost, Christie made me laugh out loud quite a few times.

I've given this a 5 star but really it should be a 4.5. It did seem a bit rushed to me. It certainly had all the usual red-herrings, but it did seem to rely on a lot of coincidences. The majority of the detecting was up to Poirot's standard, but the finding of some of the evidence was down to sheer luck. I was amused by Poirot having to "rough it" at his lodgings, but if he hadn't, things would have been decidedly different.
