I really enjoyed this book and it was so close to 5 stars, but in the end I settled on a very solid 4 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Maybe more in the morning or Boxing Day.
Well here we are on New Year's Eve and I now have two reviews to write, before donning my DJ and heading off this evening with my friends.
Oh yes, the book, now a number of people have commented that this bears a remarkable similarity to a Christie short story (hmm my memory must be going 🤔) and/or that other people have copied the basic prem ...more

This one fooled me completely! I love how Agatha Christie, at the height of her powers, leaves a trail of puzzling clues for readers and Poirot, who sweeps them all up into a coherent solution at the end. All loose ends tied up. Christie rarely wastes time with unnecessary descriptions and manages to tell most of the tale through the actions and dialogue of the characters, which makes for another smooth read. This was a re-read for me. I last read it during summer 2019. I love this book because so much of it is set around Devon, both my hometown and Agatha's. Great concept with entertaining characters and lots of Poirot being classic Poirot. This is an easy one to enjoy and I would recommend to anyone.

Definitely the most intricate plot/solution I've read in an Agatha Christie novel! It was very relaxing to read, I pictured myself there on the beach, sun bathing as I was reading - bliss!
