"You do see, don't you, that she's got to be killed?"

Mrs. Boynton is despised by everyone who meets her. Even her family. All of her children live under her thumb and it is easy to see how her manipulative tyranny make Mrs. Boynton one of the most despicable characters (view spoiler) in any Christie novel.

Mrs Boynton and her family are staying in the same hotel as Hercule Poirot and he soon forms his own opinion of this dysfunctional family. Mrs Boynton is a tyrant and keeps her adult children dependent on her for money and treats them like slaves. Another reread for me, but really enjoyed it. The first time I read it Petra was just a place to me but this time I was able to look at it on the web, and imagine the setting. As usual Poirot is his conceited self, and works every thing out within a day this time.

After a long run of a lot of Miss Marple’s stories, I switch back to a couple of Hercule Poirot novels. I enjoyed reading this one. I think this was one of the very first AC novels I had seen in my house. Although it is a nice story, but after reading countless AC novels, I had more expectations from this one.

I always get this one mixed up with the one set in ancient Egypt - so avoided rereading it for years!

But now I have and it was just okay.
