The Murder of Roger Ackroyd is heralded as one of Christie’s best as well as one of her most controversial mysteries. To tell what exactly what it was that made it controversial would spoil the read. Suffice to say, some critics thought it brilliant; others hated it.

While I thought it was an effective mystery, I probably wouldn’t rank it as high as Murder on the Orient Express or And Then There Were None, personal favorites. This one seemed to plod a bit, and while the last few chapters pack qu ...more
