"There are coincidences.... But they shouldn't happen too often"
I've had multiple reads of this. And I have seen the films. Unfortunately, some of the films don't adhere that closely to the book. And then they can become confused in your mind. So I re-listened to a chapter or two, knowing that I had dozed off, and not knowing whether I missed something or the item I am remembering is from a movie and not from the book.
It wasn't in the book.
This is a multiple read for me. But always enjoyable. ...more

I always enjoy this story of murder in an English country house. First a rich man dies in his bank office, with some rye seed in his pocket. Then two more murders follow, his wife in the parlor at tea and a maid by the clothesline - found with a clothespin on her nose. It's this that brings Miss Marple into the case, as she trained the maid and is incensed by the lack of respect shown the girl's dead body. And if you're a murderer, that last thing you want to do is get Miss Marple on your tail!

A rather clever plot concerning a series of murders following a gruesome nursery rhyme, which only the sharp, quick-witted Miss Marple can solve!

I always find it so interesting that Christie doesn't introduce Miss Marple until more than half the book is done! Very interesting mystery. I was completely wrong as to who the killer was.

I think this may be one of my favourite Agatha Christie books - the mystery was fantastic and I really enjoyed the writing. I am thankful I listened to the audiobook though as the narration was great and it helped me keep track of who was who.
