What Members Thought

SPOILER ALERT!
This book was a gross disappointment after the other delightful Poldark books, mainly because:
a. it focuses too much on war and especially politics; and
b. it leaves out so many characters we've come to love.
After all the time spent on Drake in past books, we get a one liner that he and Morwenna are living away, have one child (guess she got over being touched), and work in Ross' boatyard? And Sam has wooed and won Rosina Hoblyn, but that's about all we hear about them? Almost noth ...more

Just as good years later as when WG first started! I enjoyed seeing Jeremy and clowance struggle with their love lives, it will continue to make interesting reading as the books go on! I love Jeremy and hope he keeps his gentle spirit..I don't like Stephan though and don't trust him! I can't believe no one sees through his lies! If anyone can its Ross and demelza... They already knew he lied about his ship story and yet they will consider him a good suitor for clowance? So I'm hoping in the next

Perhaps it was the first in the series that written years after the first lot, but the story lost its umph from the get go. This book wafts around too much on loose threads and ideas to try and set the scene for the next generation and in doing so is not only boring but feels like I wasted part of my life reading it. Not really wanting to continue with the next books in the new series if they continue to be more of the same. Seriously for me the series should have ended with the previous book. S

Bit of a weak ending, but then again this is a 12 book series so the installments have to end somewhere! Poor Lord Edward....
