Difficult read for me. Too many new characters introduced without continuity from the previous book IMO.

Shelves: favorites, fiction, historical-fiction

This book doesn't have the colossol emotional wallop that ended "The Angry Tide" but it is an enjoyable extension of the Poldark/Warlaggen saga. This addition introduces Demelza and Ross Poldark's children Jeremy and Clowance. Reading one of these books is like visiting with a dear old friend. Luckfully, I still have four more to enjoy!

This book moved things along a bit taking the action up to a time when the Poldark children are grown into adults, except for Isabella Rose who is still a noisy rambunctious child.
What a shame Stephen washed into their cove, doesn't everyone find him a little creepy. Clowance could have done way better than to hitch her wagon to Stephen.
Still plenty of Ross and Demelza (my favourite characters) not to mention the ever plotting George. Shame that there is little mention of Drake and Morwenna I wo ...more
