The novel Dracula is made up of a collection of letters and notes that are dated from May 3rd to November 7th. A couple years ago, the newsletter Dracula Daily has the brilliant idea to actually send an email for each day represented in the book, so that you could follow along in "real time". I decided to join in this year when Bloody FM put out a podcast production called Re: Dracula, which is fully voice acted and produced with sound effects and music.

"Dracula" was written by Bram Stoker in 1897- his best-known work. It is an epistolary novel with diary entries, letters, and other written materials from multiple characters. All the characters encounter Dracula in some way as he makes his rounds outside of his castle in Transylvania. It is the task for Jonathan Harker, Mina Harker, Dr. John Seward, Arthur Holmwood, Quincy Morris, and the all-knowing Dr. Van Helsing to defeat Dracula.

When I was young I saw a picture of Dracula (or the actor playing him) in my parents Time magazine and have essentially scared of all things vampire related since then. Finally decided it was time to read the book that started it all, so with trepidation and I got the book from the library. After getting through the first section with Jonathon (which had me quite tense), I really started to get into the book. I loved how it was told through letters and journal entries.
