Extremely creative - moves a little slow at first and then turns a tad hectic but overall a very entertaining read. I especially enjoyed how Mieville played with the traditional fantasy-quest theme and had the "sidekick" step up as hero.

Young Adult Fantasy is pretty far outside the range of my typical reading tastes, but I found that I began to enjoy it almost immediately after Zanna and Deeba arrived in the abcity of UnLunDun. A smelly little milk carton named Curdle that follows you around? I also enjoyed the in-line drawings. I realized just how creative Mieville was when the new-to-UnLunDun words of Bling and Diss became Utterling characters.
