Thank you! Neil Gaiman, for a magical summer journey. I must confess that I am a huge fan of Neil Gaiman and therefore my thoughts and feelings are definitely biased. Gaiman writes Adult fairy-tales that just happen to be appropriate for readers of all ages. He uses children as the main protagonists even though he tells very adult stories. The Ocean at the End of the Lane lived up to the hype and to my anticipation and it truly is a fantastic summer read.

I highly recommend you listen to the audiobook. Neil Gaiman narrates and he is amazing. His voice and the story just fits beautifully. I loved it.

I wanted to love this book. I’ve been meaning to read it for a long time & was looking forward to a magical experience. And it certainly had its moments of magic, with some exceptionally descriptive passages and some imaginative occurrences and creatures. It’s very atmospheric & evocative.
