What Members Thought
Reading Mistborn felt strangely similar to watching a big-budget Hollywood action movie. Don’t get me wrong; I probably watch more action movies than any other kind. It is just that I associate them with generally iconic characterization, streamlined storytelling and a certain lack of emotional complexity. Although that may sound negative, it doesn’t have to be. Well, Mr.Sanderson, you have done it again. I have cried, laughed, cheered and yelled throughout this entire book. I need sleep....I have a fucking headache from my emotions being pulled back and forth the last 13 hours.
My review
Actual Rating 4.5 stars.
Mr. Sanderson has a way of drawing you in slowly, sometimes painfully, keeping you entertained with a little happenings here and there. He gives you awesome world building, perfect characters and amazing magic system. Then ...more

This is a compelling book and instantly grips the reader with its fluid style and engaging storyline. It features an interesting magic system and has one of the better endings I have come across in a while. Here is my official review......

I'm clearly in the minority here, my guess is that I ruined it by reading The Way of Kings before this and therefore expected more from this series once I was blown away with 'The Way of Kings'. I can't really pinpoint why I found this book to be a bit on the boring side, but it was to me. However, I will read the next book in the series and hopefully the story picks up a bit more.
