What Members Thought
3 stars because I don't know how to feel about this book. On one hand, the concept and way of execution was refreshing, gorgeous writing crafting a whimsical atmosphere you can feel as if you're there at the circus. On the other hand, the attention were spread too thin with so many POVs any connections I feel with each characters were only surface level. I don't regret reading this though. It's a very unique experience.

Mein Gott ist das langweilig.
I found this book to be well-written, but very slow moving. I don't really understand why these 2 children were forced into this strange battle in the first place. It seems tragic to me that a father would be willing to risk his daughter's life to win ....what exactly do they win? This is a book that just didn't live up to the hype for me.

Over the years, I listened to people talking about how beautiful and amazing The Night Circus. As you guessed, I had very high expectations for this book that, sadly, were not met.
I mean, I did enjoy the book (there were a few chapters that I found boring, but in the end everything intertwined perfectly together) and its pages are filled with sprinkles of magic.
