I fairly enjoyed this. I admit that I have seen both of the Percy Jackson movies prior to reading this. I was oddly surprised by how much the movie differed from the book. No clue why since that is usually the case. I have a feeling that I would have enjoyed this one much more if I had actually read it when I was a middle schooler. I am in my mid-thirties so the age disconnect was pretty extreme.

I finished this book for the 2nd time and I was hoping I would still love it as much as I did. I can assure you I love it more because th he first time I read it I gave it 4 stars and this time is being 5 stars. WOOOO HOOOO I LOVED MY REREAD!!! I didn't remember that much of this book so I'm thrilled I read it again. I'm rereading the whole series. I think I was stuck on book 4 back in 2016. It's time I start again

It was pretty good.. I hadn't had any expectations going in, which was good. I like the story, but to start (to build the full world) it went a little slow while they set the stage. Finally, when it was all set it was nice to finally get to all the action and the end.
the next book sounds great...now just to get my daughter to read it so we can go to the movie!! ;D ...more

Fun and exciting Young adult book. I usually read Christian books, and this very much did not have a Christian worldview. For Christian families, it could be used to talk about the truth of hell, and prayer, and Our Father...but definitely talk to your kids if they are reading this, you don't want any doubt or half-truths to plant seeds in young minds!! ...more

A fun YA adventure. Percy finds out he is a HalfBlood and meets more of his kind when he gets to Camp HalfBlood. His friends Grover and Annabeth help him on his way. The quest he is on is exciting and dangerous. Very enjoyable, I look forward to more of this series. (And now I want to watch the movie)
