4.7 rounded to 5 stars - what a wonderful summer read! I just wish I'd been reading it sitting on the beach, but I did read it on the hottest day of the year so far, and out in the garden for quite a bit, so it was just lovely.

Wow, I managed to finish this book in one day. I think that speaks to how much I enjoyed this story. I enjoy Reid's writing immensely, and I was drawn to each character and invested in how their story played out. I wasn't initially interested in the summary, it wasn't something that drew me in, but being a fan of Reid's other books, I gave it a chance, and boy am I glad that I did.

The story takes place over 24 hours during which time 4 siblings and their father have major issues to confront. The focal point is an annual end of season party. Interspersed are chapters dating back to the father and mother's first meeting and moving forward. All of the segments are told from multiple viewpoints, some even by side characters that are mostly stage setting.
