It was good! There are some cringy aspects of both relationships and other hard-to-read parts. I know that some of these have to do with the time period that is being written about but still, that is what is preventing me from giving it 5 stars. I am looking forward to the rest of the series though! Also, I listened to the audiobook and feel the narrator sounds much older than the main character's age is supposed to be. I made the mistake of watching the majority of season one of this TV show on Amazon before I started reading the book. It's not that the storyline was ruined but the characters and what I imagined them to look like have now been ruined.

The main character is Claire, a girl from England after the world war with her husband, a guy I didn't particularly like because he was dull. But Claire gets sent back in time anyway to when the English were invading Scotland (I'm not sure on the date). Claire ge ...more

I love this series!!!!
My friend has been bugging me to read this series for almost 10 years and I just didn't get around to it becuase of how many big books are already published. Theres so much to catch up on!
