What Members Thought

Well, I finally caved. I got sucked in to the Outlander world. I 'read' the audiobook version and really enjoyed it. Could the book have been trimmed down by about 100 pages or so? Yes. But- I AM a sucker for HISTORY and this book is full of that. (Specifically, the Scottish clans + highlands in the 1700's.) I will wait to write more on this novel once my group finishes reading it (I totally read too fast). Now the question is = will I cave further and get the next book in the series? Can I read

Freaking finally!
So I was invested in the book for maybe the first 20% or so, then I just didn't care. It was way too long, scenes just dragged on and on with nothing major happening. The same descriptions were used over and over and over...I KNOW WHAT JAMIE LOOKS LIKE. Also, the same plot lines were reused (how many times do I have to read about Claire almost getting raped?).

Time travel stories are some of my favorite and I've had this book on my tbr for years, but the length always was a bit intimidating. I finally decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. The story is immediately captivating. I was also listening along with the audio version and thought the narrator did a wonderful job. The romance between Claire and Jamie was enjoyable to see progress from their meeting to where the story ended. Excited to see what's next and plan to read the next book very so
