What Members Thought

Everyone who recommended this series to me said the 2nd and 3rd books are where Pierce Brown captivated a fandom...and I'm here to say they were right. I like Red Rising, but it did not have me gripped like Golden Son did.
Pierce Brown wrecked me with this book. Everything I thought I knew has been ripped to shreds and thrown into the hurricane that is all of my emotions right now.

Bloodydamn.
Okay first of all.. What the hell just happened?
Second of all.. I need the third book. Now.
Third of all.. You couldn't have asked for a better ending.
They say a Kingdom divided against itself cannot stand. They made no mention of the heart.
It was this sentence on the very first page that hauled me right back into the book and the life of Darrow.

My immediate thoughts upon finishing this were "AHAHAHA I WIN. I HAVE DEFEATED YOU." because for the longest time while reading this I felt like I would just NEED to dnf or risk a reading slump.
After reading Red Rising, it took me a long time to get around to reading this because I wasn't really a huge fan of Red Rising - it just didn't "click" with me and I found it a bit of a labour to get through (and really dry), but I really DID want to give the series another shot and see if I could unders ...more
