What Members Thought

Second time reading and reviewing: I agree with my 2020 self haha. Such a good story, amazing characters and a plot worth diving into!
So so good! A story centered on a notorious assassin. She’s elected by the crowned prince to participate in a competition to be the King’s Champion, aka personal killer. She’s trained by the captain of the guard. It’s great because there is this thread of story that connects everything without it being the total center of the story.

4 stars, maybe 4,5 stars.
I wanted to start the series for a while, but never had the time to begin. Thanks to a BR, I finally kicked off with the first book!

If she wins she will be contracted for 4 years and then given her freedom. The contest involves 24 contestants with a series of tests and eliminations. The story also evolves into encounters with monsters from an Other World and an underground of rebellion in the Kingdom. Altogether a great action-packed adventure and start to a s

I love strong female protagonists! Celaena was such a bad ass character, I love how strong she was, along with a couple other strong women, Elena and Nehemia. It was a little slow on the middle, but interesting and the action scenes were page turners. I'm definitely excited to read the next book!
