What can I say about this book besides I love it? This was one of the rare instances in which I saw the movie before I read the book. & This particular movie is one of the world's all time greatest, full of the world's greatest actors! (Clark gable is the hottest man to have ever lived) I sometimes wonder if the book would have been so great had there not been a movie that set the stage first. I read it with Clark gable & vivienne Leigh in mind, & I think that improved it as a whole. Either way, ...more

I'm glad I took Mr. Pat Conroy's advice and read Gone with the Wind. While I'm not sure that I agree with his mother that Gone with the Wind is the greatest accomplishment in Southern literature, it is certainly far better than the antebellum rendition of Jane Austin I feared it would be. ...more
