If I had read this book when I was entering adulthood, I think I would have turned out differently. Passionately told, Michelle came off as a little too intense and naive for me to identify with her, although I know I would have modeled myself on her and other characters if I had read this at a more impressionable age. I felt like I was wasting my time for much of this and was disappointed because I have heard such good things about Tea. I think I just don't relate to her life. She can be pretty funny though in making fun of herself and her life and is able to capture the way people act and speak pretty well. She is a decent writer, I just wasn't very interested in the content of this book.
