Great story of a relationship without referring to gender so we can see how relationships have more in common than not regardless of gender.

I recently reread this novel and was taken in as always by Winterson's witty, sumptuous prose. Was less taken by the love/tragedy plot as I was the first time around, a mark of my hardwon semi-maturity or increasingly aromantic lean? Also some glaring fatphobia, poor Gail :/ but she does read the narrator hard. Still this book holds a special place; meant a lot to me in my 20s. ...more
