I don't know why but this just wasn't one of my favorite Spark's stories.
Maybe it was the ending that threw me off or maybe I just never felt that connection that I normally do to his characters, either way I just didn't love this book. ...more

I loved this book. I know a lot of people don't like Nicholas Sparks' books because they usually don't end happily. I do love to read a good HEA novel; but, in real life, that doesn't always happen. This book is the story of one girl who loves two men, and the two men who love her in return. I personally think that Savannah ended up with the man that was most right for her. Dear John is such a good book about young love, and the end was a little disappointing to me considering that I read The Notebook first. The book was so good I loved it, it will forever be one of my favorite books that I will continue to read over and over again.

Was an over all SAD book...but then again I sort of expected as much from Nicholas Sparks. I wish that John and Savannah could've been together, and for once one of his books would've ended happily. But that's normal, any time I read a Nicholas Sparks novel I know someones going to die or get injured or something extremely sad will happen.
