This is by far my favorite Nicholas Sparks book. Maybe because of it's relation to the recent Iraq War, or maybe something to do with the characters, but I loved it from beginning to end!
Savannah's uninhibited attraction to John Tyree is described elegantly, and John's loner persona has readers pulling for him throughout. By the end of the book, John illustrates what love is truly about - his unselfish act resonated with this reader.

So Nicholas Sparks has an autism theme going. This is the second book that has a character with autism.
I had a hard time connecting to the main characters in this book. Not sure if it was because they were young (early 20's) or if it was that the male character was in the army.

omg this book is amazing...i have NEVER cried throughout a whole novel before, not even the twilight sage, it is one of the most emotional books i've ever read. Happy and sad tears came out of my eyes lol =]...if you love Nicholas Sparks, read this one, but let me tell you it is a heartbreaker!!!
