What Members Thought
It's been a while since I last read a Nicolas Sparks novel. Just like the last book of his I read (A Walk to Remember) this book too has memorable characters and a heart-rending story.
It has a lot about 9/11 and the war that follows, and I did find the ending to be a little unsatisfactory, but not all love stories end in "Happily Ever After."
I found I had trouble putting the book down till I had finished it. Sparks has not lost his touch with beautiful love stories. Bravo! 4 stars! ...more

Dear John is so moving and has a powerful impact on my life. What I find empowering is they did find love.
This is truly a beautiful book.

Was an over all SAD book...but then again I sort of expected as much from Nicholas Sparks. I wish that John and Savannah could've been together, and for once one of his books would've ended happily. But that's normal, any time I read a Nicholas Sparks novel I know someones going to die or get injured or something extremely sad will happen.

This was not my favorite Nicholas Sparks book. I really was not a fan of the ending.
I love nicholas sparks he is a great writer. Dear John is one of the best books i have ever read.

I LOVED IT. Omg, it's amazing! John is an amazing character, from the beginning. Even if, all the things he says he did to his father, you can see he acknowledge the fact that it's mean and hurtful, which doesn't make him a bad person. And, the part where his father.. :'( SADDEST THING EVER. Also, when he truly knew the meaning of true love:

Yet another one of my favorite books by Nicholas Sparks! A true love story all the way!!!! The end definitely takes an unexpected turn but it left me in tears!
so ROMANTIC,, i feel the passionate LOVE and endless desire..but it's still not a happy ending for me though, i really wish they were together in the end..
