What can I say. The first Cassandra Clare novel I read was City of Bones of the Mortal Instruments and I thought, "Ok, this is pretty good I will read the next one." But then I read the City of Ashes and got 77% through and I thought something was going to happen and I gave up. I was done. I wasn't in love with the first one and I wasn't a big fan of incest and the characters were annoying but I was interested in the premise (not actually the plot) so that is why I continued. At first I was worried by the title that this book would be strictly a steam punk type novel. I was wrong.

I fall in love with the book and writing style. It was just what I need for a pick me up.

Now on to what I didn't like. I didn't like the female characters in this book. I felt that they were too whinny for me to connect with.

What did I like. I like Thomas. Even though he was not a big part of the book. I wish he was. I enjoyed the twists and turns of the book. This book kept left me second ...more
