For this review, I'll be discussing all the things I liked, and all the things I didn't like so much about "Shatter Me" by Tahereh Mafi.

POSITIVE ASPECTS:

~I liked the writing style because it reflected Juliette's semi-insanity. She's been isolated for her entire life because of her power, and you can tell.

~I read this book in just a few sittings because it was really gripping. It's a very fast-paced and fun story.

I absolutely love the story! The writing style is really what bother me, I had a love/hate relationship with the crossing the words out but I understood why she wrote it that way. Another thing I didn't like is the romance in the novel, it was a bit too insta love for me but by the end I ended up loving it. Juliette also was annoying at certain times like geez we get it without the boy you are unsafe. I just wanted to go in the book and say "you don't need no man" haha. Okay. This book really got to me. Once I've read 50 pages of the book, I couldn't put it down.
The plot was amazing. I really like the writing style because it was really different. There was some steamy scenes "ehem* chapter 62.

Juliette is a pretty good protagonist but I did have some issues with her.

At first, I really disliked Adam but the sooner he was involved with the story, I was drawn to him.

Warner was just messed up. He seems so sick but he was a very good antagonist. He was just evil.

Juliette:
I really had an issue with her because she is overly dramatic. Her metaphors are unnecessary. Just stop. I think that she is stupid to act so tough. IF YOU ARE STARVING, EAT YOUR FOOD!! Like sometimes I get so annoyed by her. I also felt really bad for her, for example her past. I really thought her parents were just really mean and her school-mates. They treated her like she wasn't even human. I also don't understand how she could punch and break concrete and steel? IM CONFUSED!!!

Adam:
At first I hated Adam. I thought he was just really annoying and stuff. After the part where she finds the note thing, I thought maybe I had a chance of liking him and I did. I really thought Juliette's and Adam's love for each other happens SO FAST. Just stop for a moment! It happens really fast and I practically dropped the book when it was the bathroom scene. I know they have history but just take it slow, please. I also didn't really understand what happened to Adam's mom. Also, how did Adam's dad die? I'm just curious. James oh I freakin love James. I think he is so nice and so grateful to have a brother like Adam. Adam so so nice and kind towards James like no other sibling (sorry sis). Lastly, is Adam IMMUNE? does he also have powers that he is hiding or doesn't know?

Kanji:
I absolutely love Kanji. I think he is hilarious and wonderful side character. I really like when he just shows up infront of Adam's door and was like what took you so long to open the door? and when Adam was like I have no problem putting a bullet in your back and Kanji was like Don't worry, I already have one. In the last part of the book I was like WHAT! He could be invisible! Like WTF! I was just amazed.

Warner:
Evil.

I just don't get why everyone says that their team Warner... He's awful and Adam is so amazing. It makes me wonder what's wrong with Adam and if his every sentence is a lie. I need the next book now so I can figure that out. But even though the writing has me confused at times I absolutely love the storyline! ...more
