In Fahrenheit 451 Bradbury puts a finger and a label on some trends that were troubling in the 1950s, some which have only become more amplified and exaggerated since this book was published.
One keen point that he makes is the deterioration of healthy intellectualism. People are much more interested in being entertained and having fun than in engaging in serious thought and reflection. An 8-year-old boy is in the burn unit at UF Health Gainesville after an older boy accidentally set him on fire, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office
Officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office say the incident happened while the family was shopping at a Kmart on the Westside. Officers were called just after 6 p.m. to the store on Normandy Village Parkway.
