Here's the thing; Sarah J. Maas is undoubtedly my favourite author (because of Heir of Fire). So I was expecting tolike love this book. Yet I left conflicted and disappointed and intrigued...
The Good:
Sarah J. Maas' writing is amazing, she made me care for characters that I felt no connection to, for the last 30% percent of this book I was a whirlwind of emotions. This was the part that packed lots of plot, and I just wish that the rest of the book was as good as that 30%.

{3 1/2 stars} distractions distractions! Let's just say I read this more than I revised for my finals. Couldn't put it down. Not as good as the throne of glass series but I was still drawn.

It's no surprise to any of you who have read my blog for a while that I have a burning love for Sarah J. Maas. My need for her writing is like rain to a dessert or even candy to Willy Wonka!! The Throne of Glass is undoubtedly one of my favorite series ever and she just has a way with writing fantasy books. I approach her books differently from how I normally read other books. I have a hand full of post-its and tissues because I know the feel waves are coming.

I WANT TO STAY CALM WRITING THIS BUT SO MANY THINGS HAD ME BOTHERED ABOUT THIS BOOK IT'S HARD TO KEEP CONTAINED.
I think, though, the major setback was that I'd read the three Throne of Glass books currently out and really immersed myself in that series so this book dulled majorly in comparison. Like, it just had me saying "why" over and over. The protagonist drew little to no sympathy from me.
