1.I like how it is seen from different perspectives, I just wish that you had seen more from Sammy's perspective.

I started out reading this for my book club. Wanted to read it before the movie comes out. I switched to audio in the middle of the book. This book is told in multiple points of view. I loved Cassie's story and Sam's story. As for the other characters not so much. I just watched the trailer and I think the movie will probably be better than the book.

Some parts of it were really good, and I couldn't stop reading, but other parts I just didn't care for. I don't really know why because it was action packed throughout, but I just wasn't interested. I'll probably pick up the sequel when it come out though. :) ...more

This book has been wildly adored across YouTube, Twitter, Goodreads, Tumblr and blogs so it was only right that I too picked it up to see what all the fuss was. Although it was a good read, I was slightly disappointed and didn't quite understand everyone's adoration of this story.
The story starts with narration from Cassie, a 17 year old 'hard-as-nails' teenager who is constantly questioning whether she's the final survivor of the alien attack. I thoroughly enjoyed this first portion as it was q ...more

Fun semi-hidden jokes in The 5th wave?!
Despite a few minor things (see below) I quite loved this book. It pulls you in and doesn't let go until you've turned the last page... and even then you don't feel done with it.
First of all I want to point out something that I haven't seen people write or talk much about. The book has some nice sort of "inside" jokes (but they're of course not that difficult to spot or get or anything) that I quite liked. For example, this quote:

Didn't love it, didn't hate it. It reminded of a cross between "The Host" and "The Hunger Games" thrown in with a little "The Passage" Kept me turning the pages though. I will continue on with the series. I would actually give this 3.5 stars if I could.
