If "Coraline" is Gaiman's deliciously creepy version of "Alice in Wonderland", I suppose "Neverwhere" is his "Wizard of Oz." But, although "Oz" is hands-down one of my favorite stories of all time, as far as Gaiman goes, I'll take Alice. Giving this 5 stars, yet again. It's one of my 2 favorite Gaiman books and in my top 10 all-time favorites. Every time I read this book, I find more and more that I love. This time around, Mr. Croupe and Mr. Vandemar were probably my favorite characters. They are proof positive that you should seek out an occupation that you love and are passionate about. Even if that means torturing, maiming and killing. Also, they are dead hilarious.

I had thought for a long time that I should read something by Neil Gaiman. This was the first one I read, and sadly I was a bit disappointed. I liked the general idea of the story, the idea of another world in the London Underground. But for some reason, the story never really caught me, as well as the characters.
