I really loved the first book but my enjoyment diminished over the rest of it. It started as a funny, witty take on Arthur's childhood and turned into a heavy look at power, betrayal, fate, and tragedy. I liked the light-hatred stuff better but it's easy to see why this is a classic. ...more
