Frankenstein by Mary Shelley is a huge literature classic, but a lot of people only heard of it instead of reading the book. I was one of these people before I decided to read it this summer.
It was definitely not what I expected: I discovered that Frankenstein was the creator of the infamous monster (and not him like I've always thought), and the story I heard of was far from the original one.
