This book really touched my heart. My husband and I traveled through Nebraska several years ago, following the Oregon Trail. We fell in love with this state – both the topography and the people. We traveled the back roads near the setting of this story, and the phrase “corn and sky, corn and sky” was our overall impression of the Plains.
