First, know that the book is nothing like the atrocious movie made in the 80's!
Second, if you are interested in ecology, regreening the deserts, water conservation, or climate change, you will probably really find this book intellectually stimulating as well as entertaining, but be forewarned: it is a long and dense book and will take some willpower to read, but it is 100% worth it.
A true sci-fi gem. Fantastic world building- feels almost too real for comfort. Amazing characters- the bad guys ar ...more
