One of my all-time favorites: Not only is the character mythical and the story iconic, but the book itself, the writing, is brilliant. So mischievous and poignant, the language magical and precise.

Lines like , "Years rolled on again, and Wendy had a daughter. This out not to be written in ink but in a golden splash"... how good is that?!

Shelves: classics
The story of Peter Pan is a great story, a "classic" but it's way more different than what I thought it would be. I've seen the Disney movie before and the book is way more darker and violent that the animated version.

The story itself is great but I was surprised by how much Peter Pan is a "bad" character. He steals children, fights and kills pirates, gives orders to the Lost Boys and he's selfish... He's really not the incarnation of innocent childhood, more like a brat.
