Start with 3 stars, because it’s a decent, if dated, adventure story
-0.5 star for the “most clever woman in Europe” being remarkably stupid and completely useless as a protagonist
-1 star for rampant antisemitism
-0.5 stars for the rather poorly done reactionary propaganda, when coupled with the above.

I recently read a Times article about introverts struggling during the current pandemic. The article provided a funny reference to an introvert bingo card on which the author was able to fill in 13/16 spaces, therefore solidifying his identity as an introvert. One of those spaces read 'I've had a crush on a fictional character". After reading this novel, I am now able to fill in that square, Sir Percy Blakeney, I am here for the taking! I am surprised at how much I loved this book, I wish it was
